i am creating a power point and have pics to insert. the pics go in, but a
day later they are replaced by red x's. when i try to reinsert the same
photo, a red x reappears. if i insert a diff photo or a diff version of same
photo, then it is OK....

RED X instead of graphics

If inserting different photos or different versions of the same photo work even
after saving and reopening the file, I'd guess that the images that cause red-x
problems are corrupted, are CMYK or include color profile info that PPT can't
cope with.

Pulling PowerPoint graphics into Adobe InDesign? PowerPoint This is a killer. Jump in if you dare! I am creating an InDesign document as PDF and printed to a high- quality laser printer. I need to pull some graphics (shapes, tables, and even PowerPoint generated bar and pie charts) from PowerPoint and import into InDesign (in InDesign they call it "place"). I have tried a number of different ways and nothing really seems to work well. Saving the PowerPoint slides out as PNG, TIFF, or JPG images creates low-res blurry images that will not print well. I thought the best thing to do would be to save the PowerPoint file as a PDF, and then "place" various pdf pages into the InDesign document. It
