PowerPoint - Increase Margin on Handouts

Asked By Pat Lon on 22-Apr-07 06:10 AM
I have a Landscape slide deck that I want to print out Portrait, two to a
sheet as handouts.

The default Margins are far too generous for the handouts so I want to know
how to make them smaller. I have looked at the HandoutMaster view but could
not edit them from there.
I am using Powerpoint 2007 but if you only know how to do it in 2003 I can
drop back down to that.

Thanks

Pretty sure you cant change the size of the slides in the handout in 2003 and
AFAIK not in 2007 either.

You could "send to > microsoft word" and then adjust sizes (not quick) OR
save the slides as jpegs and if you have photoshop or something similar use
Automate > picture package -( this is fairly quick but you need to have
suitable software) or maybe try out Shyam's Handout wizard
http://skp.mvps.org/how/ which is a very useful bit of kit!

There is a workaround I just discovered thanks to a colleague.

When you print, don't choose "handouts". Choose "slides" and then under your printer settings choose to print two pages on each page and to print in landscape and this should accomplish the same look with very little margin (the minimum required by your printer).

This also works with printing to PDF.
